Country cottage renovation.
Situated in a picturesque Oxfordshire village, Asher House was a characterful stone-built cottage with original beams and impressive hearths, but ready for a fresh start.

We stripped back the more recent additions to the cottage, showcasing its original character and establishing a lighter-feeling interior with a better flow and improved connection with the outdoor space. Original stonework and timber details were complemented by stylish new kitchen and bathroom installations that transformed the space.
Exquisite joinery from Barr Joinery complements the contemporary cottage palette provided by Lara Clarke Interiors. The final design sees a sympathetic upgrade and refurbishment to the original cottage – complete with stunning swimming pool – to create a characterful and cosy home for all the family to enjoy.
Situated on the fringe of a picturesque Oxfordshire village, Asher House is typical of the local stone-built properties that characterise the area, but it was ready for a fresh start. We designed a sympathetic upgrade and refurbishment to create a characterful, restful home with an improved connection to the outdoor space.
We stripped back more recent additions to the cottage, exposing and showcasing its original character and establishing a lighter-feeling interior with a better flow. Original stonework and timber details were complemented by stylish kitchen and bathroom installations that make a design statement without overwhelming the overall effect.
Asher House is a perfect example of how a characterful home can be transformed into a comfortable, modern family living space without compromising its authentic charm. Exquisite joinery from Barr Group complements the contemporary cottage palette provided by Lara Clarke Interiors, making this a cosy home for family holidays.
We created a beautiful English cottage garden for a young family, with a sense of magic at the heart. The award-winning design saw the creation of a series of distinct areas that each evoke their own unique ambiance.
We used swathes of Salvia through mixed borders of perennial and herbaceous planting to create soft movement and textures (which the bees love too).
The light, whimsical feel is complimented by beds of cosmos, roses, helenium, wisteria, persicaria, lavender and dahlia, which add strong splashes of colour during the summer months.
