Cotswolds Inspired Interiors
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and spanning over 800 square miles, you can be sure of three things when you decide to take a trip to The Cotswolds; warm comforting pubs, grand manor houses and stylish barn conversions—all of which are overflowing with interior design inspiration.
Soho Farmhouse and Daylesford are fast becoming the most popular rural retreats within The Cotswolds, and as such, we are seeing an influx of design schemes that our clients’ aspire to emulate in their own period property homes – from the eclectic design of Soho Farmhouse to the country chic of Daylesford.
We are frequently seeing our clients move out of London – and even immigrate from overseas – to settle down into a rural life in The Cotswolds. Interior Design within The Cotswolds is all about enhancing the original features of characterful properties, introducing colour and texture—and above all, the integration of insightful design of function and practical spaces. See above left and below our architectural project at Asher House, with interiors by Lara Clarke Interiors.
Inside a beautifully designed Cotswolds property you can expect to find rich contemporary linens, paired with characterful antique pieces which have stood the test of time and sit in harmony against the natural materials and finishes of the original property. These materials include Cotswold stones and rustic wooden beams—all of which no doubt frame beautiful views out into the open countryside. More frequently, we are seeing requests for beautifully designed and functional boot rooms, utilities, pantries and wardrobes, in addition to more luxurious amenities such as wine rooms and yoga rooms—all of which enhance the rural way of life within The Cotswolds. At HollandGreen, we are passionate about bringing period properties into the twenty first century. That is why our in-house Architects, Interior Designers and Landscaping teams work collaboratively together to create inspirational, insightful designs with an exceptional client experience. As you can imagine, working on grade II listed period properties, such as Stone Farm below, does present its own set of challenges with regards to conservation and planning, which is why we design spaces that enhance contemporary living, whilst instinctively protecting the sensitive areas to the original property.
