From Ethos To Studio: Blending Heritage With Innovation
Our Thame headquarters is the perfect embodiment of our core values. Based in the historic Old Grammar School, parts of which date back to 1569, our multi-disciplinary Design Studio also functions as a contemporary 21st-century workspace.
It is a fitting backdrop – as our team is passionate about creating homes where modern living is seamlessly integrated with heritage architecture. Our own building perfectly balances the old with the new, tradition with innovation.

Our pioneering Studio unites architecture, interior design, landscape design, and project management under one roof, providing a comprehensive, turnkey solution for our clients. Today we’re a team of over 40 talented professionals, and each of our core disciplines is led by experts in their field. Our collective expertise ensures outstanding results at every stage.

Expertise in Heritage
Working with heritage properties presents unique challenges, but we are renowned for embracing them. We collaborate with Historic England on listed building restorations, work closely with local authorities to meet stringent conservation standards, and embed sustainability in every stage of the design process.
Our commitment to responsible and sensitive renovations naturally extends to our stewardship of the environment. Designing ethically is at the heart of our approach, ensuring energy efficiency, carbon capture, and environmental harmony are central to each project.
We are a proud partner of Woodland Heritage, and we actively support British woodlands, whilst prioritising responsibly sourced timber and sustainable materials. Our approach goes beyond compliance – it ensures homes not only sit beautifully within their landscapes but also leave a lasting, sustainable legacy.

Bringing the story full circle
The Old Grammar School served as a place of learning until the early 20th century, before being repurposed as a private residence, offices, and even a WWII dance hall. Now, in a nod to its origins and with a view to the future, we partner with Lord Williams’s School (the modern successor to the original grammar school), offering summer work experience to students.
As a Design Practice, we continue to prove that history and innovation are not opposing forces but can thrive together – both in our projects and in the space we call home.
