Grade II Listed Mill House before painstaking restoration.

Rarely do we get a chance to stop and take in the glory of a Listed Building stripped of the scars of unsympathetic additions before construction work begins. Often together with the client, we find ourselves engulfed in the hustle and bustle of ‘going to site’. Luckily, we got the opportunity to admire Mill House before its transformation began.

The Grade II Listed former mill house was purchased by our client with an ambitious vision of creating one of a kind family home. Using Point Cloud Survey, we have painstakingly captured every detail of the existing building and forged the plan for the new chapter in the home’s life.

Before the construction begins, we had to make way for the restoration works. During the process, some structural elements were exposed.

An exposed section of the building’s structure resembles an ancient cross, bearing the weight of the upper floor.

There’s strange beauty to old and sadly deteriorated original features of the home. Our focus is to gently restore them and bring in contemporary comfort into the home.

To make sure the family home will delight for many years to come, some rooms had to be stripped back almost to the core. Upstairs has become a light-filled ‘blank canvas’  can you see the opportunity our clients saw?
